Holy stones are mounted in sockets drilled into gear and add powerful effects. They only work for characters of level 100 and above, and the Holy Stone Artisan only talks to players of level 100+.
Sockets#
| Socket | Pay with | or Gold |
|---|---|---|
| 1st | Socket Spell I | 230 |
| 2nd | Socket Spell II | 2,300 |
A Socket Spell in your bag is used first. Drilling always succeeds and binds the item. The 3rd and 4th sockets are not available yet.
Stones and spirits#
There are two blank stones: the Heated Holy Stone for weapons, helmets, gloves and rings, and the Cooled Holy Stone for armor, robes, sleeves, leggings, belts, shields, amulets and boots. A stone gets its effect from a spirit: Fire spirits go into Heated stones, Water spirits into Cooled stones. Spirits are made by Mythcrafting crafters (Life Skills). World bosses drop Level 4 holy stones.
| Spirit | Stone | Effect | Per stone level |
|---|---|---|---|
| Fire Spirit of Destruction | Heated | Ignore physical defense % | 0.32–0.80% |
| Fire Spirit of Penetration | Heated | Ignore magic defense % | 0.32–0.80% |
| Fire Spirit of Assail | Heated | Physical damage % | 0.20–0.50% |
| Fire Spirit of Lightning | Heated | Magic damage % | 0.40–0.60% |
| Fire Spirit of Fist | Heated | + physical damage | 16–40 |
| Fire Spirit of Fiery | Heated | + magic damage | 12–30 |
| Fire Spirit of Blood | Heated | Critical damage % | 0.24–0.60% |
| Fire Spirit of Pressure | Heated | + critical damage | 40–100 |
| Water Spirit of Mist | Cooled | Magic damage taken −% | 0.22–0.55% |
| Water Spirit of Darkness | Cooled | Physical damage taken −% | (see tooltip) |
| Water Spirit of Silence | Cooled | Physical damage taken − | 16–40 |
| Water Spirit of Chillness | Cooled | Magic damage taken − | 14–35 |
| Water Spirit of Ice | Cooled | Reflect damage % (not against monsters) | 0.16–0.40% |
| Water Spirit of Frost | Cooled | Reflect damage | 16–40 |
| Water Spirit of Intent | Cooled | Critical damage taken −% | 0.28–0.70% |
| Water Spirit of Resilience | Cooled | Critical damage taken − | 40–100 |
The effect is multiplied by the stone's level: a Level 5 stone with Fire Spirit of Fist gives 80–200 physical damage.
Putting a spirit in a stone#
Put a holy stone and a matching spirit in (optionally with a Goddess' Stone). The spirit is used up and replaces any spirit the stone had. The value is rolled:
| Roll | Value |
|---|---|
| Best 6% (only with a Goddess' Stone) | anywhere up to the maximum |
| Next 25% | up to 87% of the maximum |
| Rest | up to 75% of the maximum (80% with a Goddess' Stone) |
Upgrading a stone keeps the value it already has. Raise the stone's level before you put the spirit in.
Upgrading a stone's level#
Put the stone and an Eclipse Stone in (optionally a Goddess' Stone or an Evasion Signet):
| Upgrade | Eclipse Stone | Chance | With Goddess' Stone or Signet |
|---|---|---|---|
| Level 1 → 4 (each step) | Level 1 Eclipse Stone | 71% | 81% |
| Level 4 → 7 (each step) | Level 2 Eclipse Stone | 26% | 36% |
| Level 7 → 10 (each step) | Level 3 Eclipse Stone | 11% | 21% |
- On failure the stone drops one level (never below 1) unless you used an Evasion Signet. A Goddess' Stone adds +10% but does not protect.
- Evasion Signets: Copper for 4 → 5, Silver for 5 → 6, Gold I for 6 → 7, Gold II–IV for the higher steps.
- The Eclipse Stone and the Goddess' Stone or Signet are used up every attempt. Stones stop at level 10.
Combining stones#
Four holy stones of the same kind and level (level 5 or higher) make the first one one level higher, always. The other three are used up.
Mounting and removing#
Mount a stone with a spirit in a free socket, for free. An item takes only one stone of each effect. Removing a stone is free and always works; the stone comes back bound with its spirit.
The Holy Stone Redeemer (103, -143) trades a Holy Stone Package Voucher for a Holy Stone Package, up to 3 times per character.
